Well I'll be honest, I'm pretty young and a little unprepared. I have always wanted to have my own business. To be able to make art and sell not only my own work, but other local artists work as well. Art is my passion, always has been. I know a growing number of local artists who don't always have a outlet to sell their work and make a living off their passion.
However I'm a little clueless on running a business. I get the making, marketing and selling aspect once a business is up and running, but there is a lot more to starting a business than I thought. Of course I knew that it would be hard, and I'm still very sure I can do it, but it might take a while.
This fall I start the last year of college and then in the spring after I graduate I am looking forward to fully opening my shop and dive into it fully. School of course comes first and I will be working on pieces for my shop. Till then I guess I'll just have to keep working on one project at a time getting closer to being open.
